Questions and answers

Short, honest answers. If yours is not here, ask us.

What should I do right now?

Money moves fast, so do these in this order.

  1. 1Call your bank immediately. Use the number on your card or in your netbank, not one from a message. Ask them to stop or recall the payment and to block your cards.
  2. 2Change your passwords, starting with email and banking. Do it from a device you trust, not the one that may be compromised.
  3. 3Do not pay anyone who offers to recover your money for a fee.
  4. 4Report it to the police at politi.dk.
  5. 5Keep every message, receipt and bank statement. Do not delete anything.

Then report a case here, and we will help with the rest.

Will I get my money back?

We cannot promise that, and anyone who does should make you cautious.

It depends mostly on how fast the bank is contacted and where the money went. A payment stopped within hours is in a different position from one that left the country days ago.

What we can do is tell you what is realistic for your case, give the bank and the police what they need to act, and keep you informed.

What does it cost?

We explain any cost before work starts, so you can decide with the full picture. Reporting a case and following it in your account are not what we charge for.

[Pricing policy to be confirmed by the owner before launch.]

Do you replace the police or my bank?

No. Your bank decides whether a payment can be recalled and the police decide whether to investigate. We prepare what they need so they can act faster, and we tell you what to expect from each.

What do you do with my data?

We use what you give us to handle your case and to keep the service secure. Your case is visible to you and to the case handlers working on it, not to other clients.

We share information with a bank, the police or an insurer only when it is needed for your case and you have asked us to.

The full description is in the privacy notice, which is a draft for now.

What happens after I report?

Your report becomes a case with a reference number and one of five statuses. A case handler reads it and starts with the most urgent step.

You follow progress in your account. Updates are written in plain language and say what comes next.

Someone offered to recover my money for a fee. Is that real?

Treat it as a second scam until proven otherwise. People who have already lost money are targeted again by "recovery" services that ask for an advance payment.

We do not contact people first, and we never ask for your passwords, card PIN or MitID codes. If in doubt, contact us through this site rather than through a message.

Can I report on behalf of my company?

Yes. The intake asks whether you are reporting as an individual or as a business. For payment and invoice fraud, speed matters most, so call your bank first and then report.
